General
Loons Landing is designed for family vacations, reunions, and relaxing lake getaways, but it is not a party or event venue.To help protect the peaceful atmosphere of the neighborhood and preserve the experience for all of our guests, we do not allow parties, large gatherings, weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, or events without prior written approval.The maximum number of guests allowed at the property is 8 adult guests, and all overnight and daytime guests must be disclosed during the booking process. Quiet hours are observed fromSunday–Thursday: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AMFriday, Saturday, and holidays: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM.If you are planning a special gathering or have questions about whether your stay fits within our guidelines, please reach out before booking. We are happy to discuss your plans and help determine if Loons Landing is the right fit.
Absolutely! As parents of a toddler (with another little one on the way), we've thoughtfully equipped Loons Landing with many of the conveniences we appreciate when traveling with young children. Our goal is to make packing a little lighter so you can spend more time enjoying your vacation.For your convenience, the home includes:Pack 'n Play with fitted sheetInglesina clip-on high chairBooster seatKeekaroo changing padBaby gates at the top of stairwellsChildproof outlet coversPlastic plates, bowls, cups, and utensilsA selection of family-friendly games and booksWhile we strive to provide a family-friendly environment, Loons Landing is a lakefront property and has not been professionally childproofed. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times, especially around the lake, dock, stairs, fireplaces, and other potential hazards.All children's equipment and accessories are provided as a courtesy and are used at your own risk. Guests are responsible for determining whether the provided equipment is appropriate for their child's age, size, and developmental stage and should inspect all items before use.
Loons Landing does not include a boat with your stay. However, guests are welcome to bring their own boat and tie up at our private dock during the boating season.If you'd rather rent a boat, we highly recommend Pine-Toon Boat Rentals, a local company offering pontoon rentals on Cross Lake. They provide a convenient way to enjoy a day on the water without the hassle of bringing your own boat. We recommend reserving your rental well in advance, especially during the busy summer months, as availability can fill quickly.If you're bringing your own boat, a public boat launch is located just minutes away in downtown Pine City, making it easy to launch and then enjoy a short ride across the lake to Loons Landing's private dock.
Yes! A convenient public boat launch is located in downtown Pine City, just 5–10 minutes from Loons Landing. It's an easy drive and provides access to Cross Lake, making it simple to launch your fishing boat, pontoon, kayak, or other watercraft.Directions from Loons Landing:Exit the property and head toward downtown Pine City.Follow the signs for the Cross Lake public access/boat launch.The launch offers a concrete ramp with parking for vehicles and trailers.Once you're on the water, it's a short boat ride back to Loons Landing, where you can tie up at the private dock and enjoy the rest of your stay.If you're bringing a boat, we'll also provide a map and detailed directions in your pre-arrival guide to make launching as easy as possible.
One of our favorite places to unwind is the lakeside fire pit, complete with comfortable Adirondack chairs overlooking the water. Whether you're roasting marshmallows, sharing stories, or simply enjoying the sunset, it's a wonderful spot to end the day.Firewood is not provided at Loons Landing. Fortunately, it's easy to find locally. During the warmer months, you'll often see self-serve roadside firewood stands throughout the Pine City area, and bundles are typically available at nearby convenience stores, hardware stores, and grocery stores.To help protect Minnesota's forests from invasive pests, we kindly ask that guests purchase firewood locally rather than transporting it from another area.As with any lakefront property in Minnesota, you'll likely encounter nature during your stay. Mosquitoes, ticks, flies, and other insects are a normal part of the outdoors—especially during the spring and summer months. We recommend bringing insect repellent, checking for ticks after spending time in wooded or grassy areas, and dressing appropriately when enjoying the outdoors.After all, we're guests in their habitat—and the peaceful lake views, towering trees, and abundant wildlife are all part of what makes Loons Landing such a special place.
Yes! Loons Landing is open and welcoming year-round, offering a completely different lake experience with each season. The home is accessible throughout the winter, and local roads are regularly maintained. During significant snowstorms, we recommend traveling in a vehicle with all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive for the most comfortable and reliable access.Winter is a wonderful time to experience Minnesota's outdoors. Cross Lake is a popular destination for ice fishing, and once conditions are deemed safe by local authorities, many anglers enjoy fishing for walleye, northern pike, crappie, and panfish. Guests planning to ice fish are responsible for checking current ice conditions, obtaining any required Minnesota fishing licenses, and bringing or renting their own equipment.Whether you're spending the day ice fishing, snowmobiling nearby, or simply relaxing indoors with a warm drink while enjoying peaceful lake views, Loons Landing is a cozy retreat throughout the winter season.
To help protect the peaceful lake environment and ensure Loons Landing remains a wonderful destination for both guests and neighbors, we ask all guests to follow Pine County short-term rental guidelines and our property rules during their stay.Quiet HoursPlease respect quiet hours:Sunday–Thursday: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AMFriday, Saturday, and holidays: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AMLoons Landing is located in a residential lake community, and we ask guests to be respectful of our neighbors and the peaceful atmosphere of the area.Maximum OccupancyThe maximum occupancy at Loons Landing is 8 adult guests.All guests staying overnight must be included on the reservation. The property may not be occupied by more guests than allowed under the rental agreement or local requirements.No Parties or EventsLoons Landing is intended for family vacations, reunions, and relaxing lake getaways. Parties, weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and large gatherings are not permitted without prior written approval.ParkingAll vehicles must be parked in designated areas on the property. No street parking is permitted.Please let us know before arrival if you plan to bring a boat trailer or additional vehicles so we can help plan parking arrangements.Boats & WatercraftGuests are welcome to bring their own boat and use the private dock during their stay.To help protect the lake and follow local requirements:Guests may have one motorized boat per rental party at the property.Motorized boats should be launched from the nearby public boat launch rather than directly from the property when a public launch is available.All watercraft must follow Minnesota aquatic invasive species prevention guidelines.Camping & Additional Sleeping AreasFor safety and to comply with local regulations, overnight camping in tents, campers, RVs, or similar temporary structures on the property is not permitted.PetsPets are not allowed at Loons Landing. If service animals are required under applicable law, please contact us prior to arrival.Safety & Respect for the PropertyGuests are responsible for treating Loons Landing and the surrounding property with care.
